LORRY TRANSPORT.
The enormous growth in motor transport for shifting sheep was impressed on one at the ram fair held at Tomoana last week, forty lorries being on the grounds at one time. This method of transporting rams (says the Hawke's Bay "Tribune") is ideal, as purchasers are in the happy position of having their rams delivered on to the farm on the day of purchase, even if they are 100 miles away. In previous years buyers incurred considerable expense in feeding their purchases, whilst awaiting trucks and shipping space, but this is now a thing of the past. The question of motor transport in the case of store sheep may be a debatable point, owing to expense, but there is no doubt that this method of transporting rams is beyond question.
