SPINAL INJURY.
YOUTH IN SERIOUS CONDITION.
The Condition of Clarence Edward Foster, aged 17, who resides at 43, Armidale Road, Remuera, who suffered a severe spinal injury on Sunday, was reported to-day as serious. Foster was injured when he dived from a ramp of the sewer at Wilson's Beach, at the foot of Victoria Avenue, on Sunday afternoon. Striking the bottom, he was immediately rendered unconscious, but was rescued by his companions and landed on the ramp whence he had dived. On the arrival of Dr. A. McGregor and the St. John Ambulance he was carried with difficulty ashore, and taken to the Auckland Hospital. One of the spinal vertebrae was fractured.
