NORTH SHORE CLUB

CARNIVAL AT BATHS TO-NIGHT.

The North Shore Amateur Swimming Club will hold a carnival In the Tepid Baths this evening. A varied and attractive programme of 52 events, including three Auckland championships, has been drawn up. and some splendid vaces should be witnessed. Miss M. O'Meara will attempt to lower Miss G. Pidgeon's 220 yds New Zealand women's breast-stroke record of 3.153 2-3, Miss N. Ludlow will attempt to lower Miss K. Champion's New Zealand intermediate girls' 220 yds record of 2.02 2-5, Miss E. Rainey to lower her own 100 yds New Zealand junior girls' record of 735. and N. Clump will also attack W. Cameron's 100 yds New Zealand intermediate boys' record of 58 2-ss. A water polo match between Mount Eden and Parnell is also set down for decision, while numerous novelty items include tiie worst diving " championship." Additional handicaps:— 50 Yards Inter-club.—J. Double, of the Mil lord Surf Club on Sunday afternoon. Four others started, but gave up on account of the cold water. Double's time was 21l 10m. NOT PONSONBY TEAM. The secretary of the Ponsonby Club (Mr. L. Brighton) writes pointing out an error was made in reporting that a Ponsonby polo loam was concerned in Hie match which he stopped (as referee) on account of playfera disputing decisions.
