TEMPORARY RELIEF.
(Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 20. It is believed that Mr. J. H. Thomas, Dominions Secretary, will shortly announce that the Ottawa Conference will be held in the middle of July, but the personnel of the British delegation is at present undecided. It is likely, however to be Mr. Walter Runeiman, President of the Board of Trade, Mr; Thomas, and perhaps Mr. Malcolm Mac Donald, Parliamentary Secretary to the Dominion Office, "fill attend.
AID FOR NEW YORK CITY. NEW YORK, January 20. Wall Street bankers have made a last minute agreement to advance New York city 12,500,000 dollars of tli-3 32,500,000 dollars required to meet immediate obligations. The loan must be repaid with ti per cent interest in 11 days. It is believed the city treasury will be able to cover the remainder, but' it is cxpected that unlesa it is possible to negotiate new loaus in the meantime New York will be virtually without funds srfftr February 1.
