ROWING.

OTAGO ON WARPATH. OBJECTS TO COUNCIL'S ACTION. (By Telegraph.—'Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, this day. At a meeting of the Otago Rowing Association Mr. W. J. Wilson said it was a remarkable state of affairs, after it had been decided at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Association that the question of the appointment of selectors should be referred back to local associations, that the council should appoint three selectors without slightest reference to the associations. If such a state of affairs were allowed to continue, it was scarcely worth while associations sending delegates to Wellington in future. Mr. Caffin said last time the Otago Association protested against not having representation on the selection committee, yet in the face of that the council had again gojie over the heads of associations. It was decided to write to the council for an explanation.
