FASHIONS ON LAWN.

AT ALEXANDRA PARK,

There was.-,.a.,.large attendance at tlie lirst day of the Auckland Trotting Club's summer meeting at Alexandra Park to-day, 'and a number of very attractive ensembles were to oe seen on the lawn. The most' popular suits, were made of light-weight woollens which aie very new and this attractive mateiial was also seen in coats worn over flimsy georgettes and chiffons. Tailored suits with a true sporting cut were noticed, and were seen in heavy-weight silks and attractive shades of .Shantung. Smart straw hats accompanied these suits, while wide-brimmed trimmed straws were worn with the more dressy drapeu gowns.. White was' a very popular colour, and pinks, and greens also held away: Black held its own and was noticed in every form of emeemblc. Among those present weic: Mrs. T. J. W.
