MAYFAIR.
The Christmas season found the Mayfair Cabaret, in Smith and Smith's Building, Karangahape Road, crowded for the carnival on Boxing night. Bright and artistic seasonal decorations gave the ballroom a most attractive appearance, and cabaret novelties, balloons and streamers added the finishing touch to an appearance of Christmas festivity, helping to make the night a memorable one. The band, under the baton of Mr. Dick Saxon, gave many popular numbers, artistically rendered, and were cncorcd time and again. Amongst those present were: Mrs. Peter Grondin, who wore vieux rose silk; Mrs. H. Lawrence, green romanette; Mrs. Eric Palmer, red floral ninon; Mrs. A. Watkins, white satin; Mrs. N. Kissling (Christchurch), black lace; Mrs. L. Grondin, pink georgette and lace; Mrs. R. French, rose ninon; Mrs. I. Stanton, floral georgette; Miss Thelnia Stott, embossed georgette; Miss Iris Fairman, black beaded georgette; Miss Mavis Coupland, blue faille; Miss Kathleen Davidson, red fichc net; Miss Leeta- Myers (Sydney), pink organdie; Miss EdnA Robinson, green chiffon georgette; Miss Rose Gordon, pink georgette and lace; Miss Joan Good, pink georgette.
