THEFT FROM PAWNSHOP.
JEWELLERY DISAPPEARS. A thin piece of wire was used to abstract £15 worth of jewellery from the window of the Victoria Loan Company, opposite the Town Hall, last evening. The window was smashed, a small hole being made to insert the wire. The discovery was made by the proprietor this morning when he opened the shop for business. Apparently the theft had been carefully and coolly carried out. The plate glass was thick, and the hole was not big enough for a man to get his hand in.
