SWIMMING.
TE PUKE ANNUAL MEETING.
The first- annual general meeting of the Te Puke Swimming and Life Saving Club was held on Friday evening, President F. H. Wilkie in the chair. The balance-sheet disclosed a healthy financial position, and the report showed that the sport was taken up enthusiastically, the membership reaching 179. The opening of the .baths takes place to-day, the official function to be held later. Officers for the ensuing, year are: Patron. Mr. Donald Grant; president. Mr. F. 11. Wilkie; vice-presidents. Mr. J. Pcrsey and Mr. H. 0. Cooney; secretary and treasurer, Mr. D. C. Johnson; club captain, Mr. Eric Hargreaves; committee, Messrs. Cliff, Chapman, Lowe, Pilcher, J. Cooney, Tanner, McCullough, Hargreaves and Wllkins; hoh. auditor, Mr. 11. W. Earp; time-keeper, Mr. Geo. Sweetnmn.
