WRESTLING TOURNEY.

AUCKLAND AMATEURS. FOUR TITLES DECIDED. OTHER FINALS ON MONDAY. Although the general standard was not as high as anticipated, the wrestling at Scots Hall last evening, when the Auckland amateur championships were continued, was considerably brighter than ou the opening night. The hall was well filled, and the spectators followed the bouts closely. In a number of the classes further eliminating bouts had to be decided before the semi-finals were reached, and although a start was made at 7 o cIOCK there were «till four finals to be decided shortly after midnight, when a halt was called. The unfinished competitions will be completed at the Town Hall on Monday night next. The chief surprise of the evening was the defeat of J. Simpson, last year's winner oi the middle-weight title, in the serm-iinal. F. Munce, last year's welter champion, was also beaten before reaching the final. The new title holders so far decided are as follows:— Flyweight.—Kielia Bana. Welter-weight.— A. J. Newton. . Middle-weight.—P. Hill. • Heavy-weight.—L. Blomneld. Results:— FLYWEIGHTS. Limit 7.10. Final.—Kisha Bana \f.2) beat C. Naden (7 8) in straight falls. Body presses gave Bana falls in the first and third rounds. BANTAM-WEIGHTS. Limit 8.2.

C. Jones (8.0) beat A. Hassan (7.9) in straight falls after a willing bout. Jones scored with a press in the first round, and with a wristloek and press in the third. Kisha Bana (7.2) beat R. Smith (8.0) in straight falls. FEATHER-WEIGHTS. Limit 9.0. L. Ball (8.13) beat R. Williams (8.6) in straight Tails. Ball scored with a cradle in the first round, and a body, press in the second. W. Dawson (8.10) beat K. Brewer (9.0) on points. This was an exciting bout. There was nothing between them and the verdict met with a mixed reception. W. Williamson (8.11) beat C. S. Passmore (9 0) by one fall after a tame bout._ Williamson scored a fall with a press in the third round. W. Williamson (8.11) beat A. Webb (8.13) on points after a quiet bout. L Ball (8.13) beat W. Dawson (8.10). on points. This bout was strenuously contested, and there was little between them at the finish. LIGHTWEIGHTS. L-imit 10.0. H Brewer (9.4) beat E. K. Pilkington (9 3) in straight falls. Brewer took the aggressive from the start, and in the second round scored a fall with a body press. Another press early in the third round gave Brewer the win. , W. Jackson (10.0) beat A. Paterson (9.10) in one round. Paterson was dumped in the first round and was unable to continue. . D. Skelton (9.10) boat D. Smith (0.10) on points. Skelton was the more aggressive in a scrambling bout in which no falls were scored. C. Kelly (9.11) beat W. Paget (9.5) on points. Kelly finished the stronger in an even bout. G. Morgan (9.10) beat T. Robinson (9.2) by one fall gained in the second round with a half nelson and grape vine.

H. Brewer (9.4) beat W. Jackson (10.0) on points titter a poor bout. H. Brewer (0.4) beat. G. Morgan (9.10) on points. Neither could score a fall. C. Kelly (9.11) beat D. Skclton (9.10) on points, v Skelton showed himself a much improved wrestler. WELTER-WEIGHTS. Limit 10.7. J. Kazanich (10.6) beat .1. W. Murphy (10.2) with body presses in the first aud second rounds. A. J. Newton (10.1) beat F. Munce (10.5) by one fall. This was a good bont, Newton's strength giving him a fall with a press in the third round. Final.— A. J. Newton (10.1) beat J. Kazanich (10.6). In the third round Kazanich injured his shoulder and was unable to continue. MIDDLE-WEIGHTS. Limit UA. 11. Johnson (11.3) beat B. Keane (11.3) in straight falls. Johnson was too strong and won two quick falls by throwing his opponent with a headlock and pinning him with a press. J. Simpson (11.3) beat W. Way (11.0) by one fall. Simpson got a quick fall in the first round with a headlock. Way had the advantage in the second, but Simpson almost scored again in the third. B. McKenzie (11.3) 'beat J. G. Boyle (11.0) by one fall. A body press iu the second gave McKenzie the win. , 11. Johnson (11.3) iTeat J. Simpson (11.3) on points. This was a hard bout with no falls, and the decision might easily have gone the other way. P. Hill (11.3) beat B. McKenzie (11.3) in straight falls with body presses in the first and third round. Final.—P. Hill (11.3) beat H. Johnson (11.3) on' points in a good bout. Neither could score a fall, although both wrestled well. ■ ' LIGHT-HEAVIES. Limit 12.7. J. Wilson (12.1) beat A. Pilcher (12.1) by one fall. This was an interesting bont, and it was not until near the end of the third round that Wilson • scored with a body press. A. Jones (11.1) beat T. Shanahan (12.1) on points. Despite his disadvantage in weight Jones took the aggressive, and in the third round made all the points. HEAVY-WEIGHTS. No limit. L. Blomfield (14.5) beat G. Gardiner (14.5) on points. There were no thrills in this bout, Gardiner being on the defensive throughout.
