The NeW . Zealand ladies' golf tournament championship final between Miss Oliver Kay (holder) and Miss B. Gaisford over 36 holes, commenced this morning. A very large gallery followed the plav with keen interest. As expected, tne contest is a close one. Miss Kay is not quite so steady as usual, 'vvnilfit her opponent is at the top of her form. At the first both landed on the green in 2 Miss Kay narrowly missed sinking a 30ft putt. The,, hole was halved in 4. The second saw Miss Gaisford slice a drive on to the No. 1 fairway, with Miss Kay just short of the green. Miss Gaisford over-ran the green with her second. Miss Kay took the hole, 3—4. Miss_ Kay 1 up. Playing tlie third, Miss Kay found the right bunker with her drive. Miss Gaisford was to the right. She played a perfect second to the pin. Miss Gaisford failed to sink a 2ft putt. Miss Kay taking the hole, Miss Gaisford 2 up. At the eighteenth Miss Kay played a beautiful second on to- the green, -Miss.. SECOND BOGEY RESULTS. In the New Zealand ladies' golf tourney, the second bogey match winner yesterday afternoon was Miss O. Smith, 2 down; opposite division (scr to 10), Mrs. Stout, 3 down. Other good cards were: —Mrs. H. V. Johnston, 3 down; Mrs. Green, 3 down; Mrs. G. Clark, 4 down; Miss Pliarazyn, 4 down; Mrs. H. O'Leary, 4 down; Mrs. Finlay, 4 down : Miss M. Wylie, 4 down.
