FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. BUSINESS SLIGHTLY BETTER. . COMMERCIALS MOVE UP. Though sales have not been plentiful on ihe local Stock Exchange during the past "24 hours, there has been a slightly better tone. Commercial Banks have moved up with buyers at 13/6, and holders asking 13/9. This shows an advance in the week of 6d a share. A buyer came in for Nationals of Australia at £9 5/, while New ififalands remained steady with buyers at £2 3/6. Australian securities were definitely better. Buyers for Colonial Sugars moved up to £33, and an offer was made for Electrolytic Zinc prefs.. at 10/9. Mount Lyells were firm with buyers at 17/9, and higher rates were offered for the two tin •companies, Kuala Kampar and Rawang. In Government stocks buyers for tax frees dropped their limits 5/ to £97 10/, but the sMi's (1937) were firmer, with buyers at £99 5/, and holders back to par. The Noon Call. At the noon call fresh business in Government 5V2 per cent stocks was put through, confirming recent strength in this section. National Banks wei;e in demand, with buyers at £3 12/6. P. and 0. shares were asked for at £l 2/9, and a parcel of Colonial Sugars was available at £33 10/. In the mining section 5/ was offered for Golden l)awn. SALES COMPLETED. Last Sale.
