MOONEE VALLEY MEETING.
AMMON RA IN COX PLATE. MELBOURNE, October 14. Ammon Ra and Phar Lap have been nominated for the W. S. Cox Plate, weight-for-age, nine furlongs and a hall, at Moonee Valley on Saturday week. Ashley Reed rides Spearman in the Caulfield Cup, and G. Newton rides Minarea. On the tracks Royal Bard cantered, and looks well. The Dimmer did useful and Vigne serviceable work. St. Maryland Opera King have arrived at Caulfield. Both did steady work. Spearman did a mile on the outside in evens. t Stepbanite has joined G. Hepburn s Caulfield team. The New Zealand-bred Affirm has been sent for a epell.
