SEARCH FOR OIL.
The Moturoa Oil Wells Company report, under date of September 26:—No. 2 well ■produced by pumping 160 barrels . (5600 Imperial gallons) ot' clean oil during the week. It is possible that tho temporary screen may be choked, thus retarding the flow. This is now being withdrawn, in order that further tests may bo made.
NEW PLYMOUTH OIL WELLS. The New Plymouth (N.Z.) Oil Wells Company reports:—"Drilling out the plugs showed the hole to be dry. We proceeded to drill ahead, and to-day (21st) struck gns, which lilted the tools in the hole and kinked the drilling cable. Clas lines to the boiler are being laid."
