CHARITY BALL.

The charity ball held at the Town Hall last evening, and organised by members of the Auckland Police Force, was one of the outstanding successes of this season. Flags of all nations, with hanging baskets of ferns, were suspended from the galleries, the stage being arranged as a drawing room, with opened trelSsed porticos, blue curtains, and shaded lights. A revolving prismatic sphe#e hung from the ceiling and threw multi-coloured lights on the dancers. Continuous music was rendered by the Blind Institute, Bolton's Apache and Ritz orchestras. Superintendent S. Till thanked the Mayor, councillors and others who had assisted in the organisation of the balL- The guests were received by Superintendent. S. Till and Mrs. Till, who wore a black satin frock, with black brocaded chenille coatee, and Inspector J. W. Hollia and Mrs. Hollk, the latter wearing black beaded ninon and lace.
