POLICE FORCE.
PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. W. G. Wohlmann, announces the following promotions and transfers in the police force:— Detective Revell, of Wanganui, to be detective-sergeant, and transferred to Wellington. He will be replaced at Wanganui by Detective J. J. Murray, of Wellington. Consequent on the retirement of Senior-Sergeant Butler, at Nelson, Senior-Sergeant Stark, of Napier, is transferred to take his place. Sergeant Pender, of Kilbirnie, and Sergeant Martin, of Dannevirke, are promoted to the rank of senior-sergeants. SeniorSergeant Pender will go to Napier. Constable Whiting, of Whangamomona, is promoted to the rank of sergeant and is transferred to Wellington.
