LAWN TENNIS.
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. DIFFICULT PAST SEASON. The report to be presented at the fiftysecond annual meeting , of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association on Fridaj states that in many respects the past season has been a difficult one. Nevertheless the association is slowly progressing and has now reached the time when a more optimistic view of things can be taKeii. About eighteen months ago expenditure had been considerably reduced, ana the benefit of the reduced costs -were now being felt. The operations for (he year disclosed n loss of £86, which was due mainly to (1) an increase in the amount of depreciation the charge against the grandstand being for a period of twelve months, as against six months in the previous year's accounts • (2) an increase in the Interest on overdraft: (3) the fact that no revenue was received this year from the hire of the grandstand, although last year £150 was credited from this source. In accordance with rule 29 of the constitution, clubs must be prepared to make orood the deficit. The income of the generril account was&4s2 IS/4. and the expenditure £2:;s IS/1, an excess of income over expenditure of £214 0/ii.
