RUFFLES' GOOD SIX
The weatKer-was fine for training at Takanini this morning Slid there was some interesting galloping. Holly Lu "and Greek Gold ran three furlongs in 425, while Tea Chat covered five furlongs easily in I.IQ. Exaggeration and Imperial Prince got to the end of six furlongs, in 1.24. Bronze Eagle, assisted over ,the first part by Heremai and over the last half-mile by Lady Vane, traversed about a mile aiid three furlongs. He ran his last seven furlongs in • 1.42 easily. Dominican, assisted by Columba over the first part, and Ganpat over the last six furlotiigs, rah a.mile in 1.52. Tea Trader, -with two two-year-olds from Jamieson's stable, ran half a mile in 595. High Comedy and Royal Artist covered five furlongs'in 1.9 and Ruffles six in 1.20. The latter was assisted by Speedmint over the last five furlongs. WORK AT TE RAPA. CANDIDATES FOR ELLERSLIE. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") HAMILTON, this day. Track work was carried out at Te Rapa this morning by horses engaged at the Pakuranga meeting. Xo. 2 grass track was in use, but the going was holding. Lady Whirlwind, going nicely with Holly' Holm, ran three furlongs on 39 l-ss. The former is engaged in the parade on Saturday and is well forward. Cruachan went once round in 2.3. This gelding is well. , Prince of Orange, L'Allegroi and Unoco finished in that order over six furfongs in 1.23. The former was doing it beet, but the others also went nicely. Tradesman has pricked a hoof and' will not be started on Saturday. Cargen and Ruby Dawn did useful exelcise. They are well advanced for their coming racing. Riding engagements on Saturday include: G. Carmont, Cruachan; K. Voitre, Prince of Orange; R. E. Thomson, Ruby Dawn, Royal Visitor; H. Gilmer, Cargen; 0. Melnally, Unoco.
