AUCKLAND CLUB. The Auckland Amateur Atheltic and Cycling Club held its meeting on Saturday at the Ellerslie racecourse. The going was heavy, especially in tne 2 J -mile steeplechase, which started at the mile-post and finished at the grandstand. Results: — 75 Yards Sprint.—First heat: Adams 1, Munro 2, O'Shea 3. Won by 2ft. Time, 7 4-ss. Also competed, Thompson, Murphy, Rogers and McCarthy. Second heat: Poore 1, Keddle 2, Bell 3. A close race, won by inches. Time, 7 2-,">s. Also competed, Kraser, Snook. G. Elliott. Third heat: Clark 1, Green 2, Miller 3. Woo by a foot. Time, 7 3-ss. Final: F. E. Poore 1, A. Clark 2, W. Miller 3. Won by 6iu, with Miller close up. Time, 7 3-os. Throwing the Discus.—C. ■D. Bell. HSft 9Jin, 1; W. G. Thompson, 115 ft liin, 2; A. Clark, 115 ft lin, 3. Putting the Shot—T. Elliott, sen. 39ft Sin, 1; E. C. Wooller, 3Sft SJin, 2; A. Clark, SSft Sin, 3. Two and a half Mile Steeplechase.— Adams led up the hill for the Inst time, but Allan then passed him and enmo ou gamely to win by 20 yards. Allan 1, Adams 2, Green 3. Thompson. Birtwhlstle. Murphy, Bell, Clark and Snook linlshed In this order. The winners time ! was 14.12.
