TRAGEDY OF THE BLIND.
TWO WOMEN KILLED
LONDON, -July 10,
Two blind women. Jane Stephen, 25, and Carolina Gretchen, 31, left an Edinburgh institute, of w-hich they were inmates, filled with joyful anticipation of their approaching holiday. Catherine Moran. 28. who is also blind, accompanied them to the station. A man who placed his hand on Miss Stephen's shoulder guided the women to the departure platform. Misses Stephen and Gretchen. thinking that he intended them to go on, stepped off the platform, and were killed by an incoming goods train. Miss Moran. actuated by a sudden presentment, wrenched herself free, and remained in safety on the platform.
