CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday,
A painfut accident befell Roy Gilbert, who had been working on Gough's Bay Road, near Akaroa, on Sunday. He was running a motor cycle down a hill to start it when the machine struck a loose stone and he was thrown against a rock breaking his left leg at the knee v The injured man dragged himself half a mile up the road to Mr. W. J. Haley's gate, where he was able to make himself heard. The painful journey took him over three hours. Mr. Haley took him to the Akaroa Hospital.
