KOHIMARAMA WHARF.
DEMOLITION NOT DEFINITE,
An offer from the Tamaki Yacht Club to repair the Kohimarama wharf by voluntary labour was mentioned in a letter to the City Council from the dub last evening, but the works committee recommended that the previous decision, that the council had no objection to the demolition of the wharf, be adhered to. A further conference between the council and the works committee of the Harbour Board had been held, said the council engineer, Mr. J. Tyler, and the council had asked that a portion of the wharf be retained. Owing to the heavy expenditure on the waterfront road, however, the council could not promise to maintain any portion that was left undemolished. The works committee of the Harbour Board had promised, said Mr. Tyler, to give every consideration to the council's request.
