RETIRING CONSUL.
FAREWELL TO M. PAUL SERRE. A farewell to M. Paul Serre, the retiring Consul for France at Auckland, was given by members of the Auckland Consular Corps, and their wives, at the home of Mr. A. M. Ferguson, deputydean of the corps, on Saturday evening. M. Serre is about to return to France. References to the long and valued service rendered to the corps by M. Serre was made by Mr. W. F. Boyle, Consul for the United Statee. M. Serre, he said, had founded the corps, and for three successive terms had' filled the i position of dean. Mr. Boyle presented J the retiring Consul with a gold chain as a memento of.hie stay in Auckland.
