PROGRESS IN NAPIER.
PICTURE THEATRE REOPENED ■ FEELING OF CONFIDENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, this day. Although Napier completely lost two magnificent theatres in the earthquake, and the third was considerably damaged, the people in the city may now enjoy indoor pictures again. Tlie Gaiety De Luxe Theatre, completely rehabilitated, reopened on Saturday night, and there was a record attendance after the successful conclusion of the first race mcetiu<r held since the 'qual-e. These two events have done much towards creating !1 feeling of confidence in* the future. \liiuv new buildings are to be started shortlv including some <>n their old sites iu the devastated area.
