WEEK-END WEATHER.

HEAVY WINDS AND SHOWERS. CONDITIONS IN AUCKLAND. Weather conditions in Auckland during the week-end were wintry. There was a strong south-westerly wind, accompanied by occasional, but very heavy showers. These conditions followed very stormy weather on the west coasts since Friday night. On Saturday afternoon the wind, which had been blowing with gale force from the north-west, veered round to south-west and continued to blow heavily. There was a very rough sea on the Manukau Bar as a result of the change in direction of the wind. There were fierce squalls and heavy rain before daylight this morning. The barometer, which fell to 29.50 in on Friday evening, rose steadily over the week-end and reached SO.lOin at noon yesterday. It then began to fall slowly, last night's reading being SO.Oin. The barometer dropped further during the night and this morning- stood at 20.S0in.
