IMPORTATION OF PETROL.
STATEMENT BY MR. FORBES

CHRISTCHUECH, this day,
"No restrictions are in existence to prevent trade between New Zealand and Russia and there is nothing to stop the importation of Russian petrol to Xcw Zealand," eaid the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, to-day. He added that there was. no special embargo on Russian goods and the question had not been raised.
At the present time, Mr. Forbes remarked, there was very little trade being carried on between Russia and New Zealand.
