Clark, Stuart, Torbet, Brown, Burnett, Grace. Both teams commenced to knock the ball about freely, and Rcid was almost in. Williams dropped and cleared. A couple of centres by Stuart set St. Luke's in motion, aud twice Brown was within an ace of scoring. A minute later Grace hit Into the net, but was outside the circle. A splendid sortie bv the St. Luke's van was nicely intercepted by Parker. A little later Monteith broke through St. Luke's defence, and found the net without difficulty. North Shore 1, St. Luke's 0. St. Luke's renewed the attack immediately, and Brown, bringing down a lofty hit, streaked for the circle. North Shore 4, St. Luke's 0. St. Luke's endeavoured to force the pace and twice entered the Shore circle. Brown took a nice hit from Grace and Brodie shot wide. Combined play by the Shore forwards compelled St. Luke s to take the defensive. Clark relieved, and Robertson, countering Parker's hit, sent into the circle, a*d Grace netted from an awkward angle. North Shore 4, St. Lukes 1. From the bully St. Luke's were again goal-hunting, but Shore cleared, and fast forward work saw St. Luke's cornered. Getting the ball near half-way, Brown reached the circle, only to find Rankin in the way. During a St. Lukes attack It. Frater received a blow on the ankle and was compelled to retire. An exchange of hits between Robertson and Parker gave Brown an opening, but Parker eventually hit into the other goal, after being penned in for some considerable time. Monteith broke away, and centring, Haggett just missed the goal. Renewing the attack Stuart put in a good run, and Brown endeavoured to score from the centring stroke, but Rankin stopped. Repeating the movement, Brown missed the uprights. A oig hit by Parker removed the scene of operations and Reid, following in a shot by Haggett, added another goal. Messrs. E. J. Hewitt and E. C. Watts refereed.
