BIRKENHEAD COUNCIL.
The Birkenhead Borough Council met last night, the Mayor, Mr. J. P. McPhail, presiding. I Public Works Subsidy.—A subsidy of i £107 was, received from the Public Works I Department towards the cost of the work r at Pupuke Road. ' j Vehicular Service.—The action of the I Mayor in sending a letter to the Devon- ' port Ferry Co. asking that the vehicular service should be extended after 4.45 p.m., i was endorsed by the council.
