A LIKELY PAIR
The Cambridge trainer W. J. McLean intends starting both Luccss and Prince Lu in the Great Northern Hurdle Race next month. F. Foster has been engaged to ride Lucess and W. Rennie will be on Prince Lu, so both geldings will have the services of capable horsemen in the big jumping event. Lucess has shown useful form in hurdle races during the past few months, having recorded two wins and one third placing in his last three starts and he should be an improved horse next month. Prince Lu has also put up some good performances over hurdles and is one of the most proficient jumpers in commission at .the present time. So far he has shown a tendency to tire badly over a two-mile journey and the extra half mile in the big race next month may be just a trifle beyond him. However, both horses have proved themselves reliable jumpers and should race well under their light imposts.
