OFFICIAL COUNT BEGUN.
MAYORAL FIGURES TO-MORROW. A start was made at 9 a.m. this morning with the official count of the votes recorded in the city area on the Mayoralty, City Council, Hospital Board and* Harbour Board issues. A large staff is engaped on the work under the direction of Mr. P. F. Notley, the city returning officer. •The checking of the rolls and a scrutiny of the votes recorded by declaration is the first task. After this is completed 'the actual counting takes place. It is thought that it will be possible to announce the final figures in the Mayoral contest by to-morrovf. but the results of the other contests will not be known for a few days. The official counting of votes cast in the Transport Board election for the three constituencies is being carried out by a special sjaff at the Town Hall.
