LABOUR AND WAGES CUTS.
"MUST SHARE IN SACRIFICES" CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. In an election address on Saturday evening the Mayor, the Rev. J. K. Archer, who is a Labour candidate for the council, said: "Some people think that the Labour party candidates are primarily, if not exclusively, opposing the 10 per cent reduction in the wages of City Council employees, but I want to make it clear that if there are any sacrifices to be made they must share in them. I am opposed to the whole principle of wage reductions generally."
