DIVORCE PARADE.
Remarkable Scenes at Reno, Nevada. , NEW LAW INAUGURATED. NEW YORK, May 3. A message from Reno says remarkable scenes were enacted there yesterday. Under the new law granting divorces after only six weeks' residence, lawyers stood in 'line from 6 a.m. filing applications in the county cleric's office for clients seeking the terminati'U of their marital' relations. One divorce application was filed every two minutes before it was suggested that the office should be shut. More than 200 applications, chiefly those of women, will be heard on Monday, and it is expected that two judges will sit. With each application a fee of £4 was paid. Some of the lawyers filed as many as 15 applications at one time, but the average was seven. One group of four brothers and sisters filed divorce or separation applications. The day's activities are believed to be a record even for America's divorce capital.
