THE FILM CENSORSHIP.
Have the various women's social and "weV fare leagues throughout the Dominion no» significance? Have they ever seriously attempted to force the Government to impose , a proper censorship on films? Cannot they; insist on the appointment of some high-minded-woman as the Government censor? Aβ an ordinary decent-minded citizen I am amazed at the continued indifference to the debauchery displayed in most animated pictures (English.' included). It is so-called realism gone mad. I am no prude, but some of the scenes in anuchadvertised films and showu in the leading' theatres have made me ashamed of myself for being in the audience. In fact on occasion* I have left in disgust rather than sit tin* out. As long as this state of affairs is allowed to continue it must 'be a standing reproach to' womankind. AD NAUSEAM.
