MINERAL FERTILISER.
Reading of a Canadian company installing a plant for the manufacture of fertiliser froffl sulphur in a mine reminds me that many yearf ago while working at Coromandel I came across a great seam of pyrites over eight feet wide. It was extraordinarily heavy, tut at that time had no value. It seems to me this might foe us-aful now. I'm told it would. The place wad in the bush above. Sikes' Creek above the big reef outcrop, not far above the waterfall where what wo called the East Reef crosses. It-wa* about four feet below the surface and seemed to dip west of north. The etuff was soft aact so heavy that a small sack of it got boo weighty to carry far, 'but I used some in * garden with success. OLD-TIMER. '
