FAREWELL SOCIAL
HENDERSON STATIOXMASTBR. A farewell social, arranged by the Town Board, was accorded to Mr. F. SI. Delany and his family in the Henderson Town Hall. Mr. Delany has been stationmaster at Henderson , for the last 15 years, and he is now retiring on superannuation after completing 37 years' service. Mr. Delany and his family have won the esteem of all, and this was expressed by Mr. A. W. Bussey, chairman of the Town Board, who spoke en-behalf of the general residents, and by Mr. W. R. T. Leighton for the oldor settlors of the district. A barometer, ■ suitably , inscribed, together with a handsome silver tea. .service, was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Delany, and a manicure set to ■ Miss Delany from her girl friends in Henderson, tho presentation being made by Miss Olga i'Mtzpatrlck. A silver cigarette case and a fountain pen nnd silver pencil were presented to their two sods, Messrs. A. and M. Delany, respectively, and lovely bouquets of tlowers were also presented to Mrs. Dolany and her mother, Mrs. L. Quick, by the members of the Henderson Women's Institute. Approximately 350 persons were present, and a programme of musical items was rendered, songs being ?iven by the Misses Parr and Robers, and Mr. Booth, and recitations by Mr. G. Allely. Community singing; was also indulged in under the direction of Mr. W. Haythornthwaite, and dancing concluded a very pleasant evening.
