INDOOR BOWLS.
PLAY AT LITTLE GREEN. Another stage of the A.O.F. Indoor Bowls Association pairs tournament was played on Saturday afternoon at the Little Green. Competition was very keen to become finalists, and the standard of play was very high, the section winners being A. Williams and F. Sullivan, L. Cleff and F. Williams, Singer and W. Phillips. The semi-final between Phillips and Sullivan was one that will not be seen again in Auckland for, perhaps, manytournaments. At times the entire head could have been covered with a table serviette, so close were the bowls clustered to the kitty. Play was of seven heads, the score being five all. Since it was a semi-final three extra neads were played, and again the scores were even, seven each. At the conclusion of another three heads scores were still even, nine all. With fifteen heads played the scores read, ten all. The many onlookers were aroused to enthusiasm on the commencement of the sixteenth head. After Sullivan had delivered his last bowl the score was three up. Thillips had a chance to win, but unfortunately for him he misjudged the green, thus allowing his opponent to win with the score. 13 —10. It was easily the_ best game ever witnessed on an Auckland indoor bowling rink.
