The opening day was postponed, but a large number of players attended the links. Mixed play was held over 12 holes. The fairways were in good order. The additional three holes brought in during the week were greatly appreciated, and illustrated the natural features of the course. The ladies' club will open its season next Wednesday, when Canadian foursomes will be played by A, B and C grades. The draw will be made at the clubhouse at 11 o'clock.

WAITEMATA CLUB

Members of /he Waitemata Golf Club played an 18 holes medal match on Saturday, which was won by B. Itae, with a card of 67. W. T. Langbein was runner-up with a score of 70.

PAPAKURA CLUB

The best cards returned in the medal round played by members of • the Papakura Golf Club on Saturday were as follow:— Ohlson, 90—15—72; Mathieson, 94—22— 72.

MANUREWA CLUB

The Manurewa Golf Club's ucw course was opened on Saturday under ideal conditions. Sixty members and visitors were present, including repressntatives from all neighbouring clubs. In declaring the course open for the season, the president. Mr. O. V. Adlam, expressed the club's gratitude to Mr. H. Collie, the owner of the property, for his generosity in allowing the club to play. The ladies' captain, Mrs. J. B. Gilmore, drove a straight one down the first fairway by way of opening. Mixed foursome were played over five holes and the president's trophies were won by Mrs. McNeil (Otahulm) and J. Jepson, jun. (Manurewa), with a net score of 41. The runners-up were Mrs. Rushton and O. Adlam, jun, with 42 net.
