HOURLY SYSTEM PROPOSED. PATIENTS IS" OWN HOMES. WELLINGTON AS SOCIATION'S • FLANS. •'By Tel*«rraph.—Own. Correspondent.)' WELLINGTON, this day. As the result of a. meeting of the Trained Nurses' Association, it ha» been decided to institute the hourly system of nursing, which exists in some other countries, in order to meet the needs of families feeling the existing financial stress, and oases in which there Is. no accommodation in a home for a trained nurse. In has been decided to institute a nursing service whereby a patient may have the services of a trained nurse for an hour, or as many hours as needed, per day. The charge will be on an hourly or weekly basis. The service will be made available through the nurses' bureau an the nurses' club, and care will be taken to minimise time and travelling expenses. The association feels that many patients can be cared for in their own homes, provided expert service can be given for definite treatment, and relatives of patients will thus be able to leave homej when necessary for a limited time.
