NOT TO BE OPENED.
HOSPITAL ISOLATION P.LOCK,
The isolation block at the Auckland hospital, built and equipped with 00 beds at a cost of over £30,000. which was to have been officially opened in the course of the next few days, will not now be opened, on account of the Government subsidy "cut," which is causing members of the board no little concern.
"If there is an epidemic we will have to opeti the block," said Mr. Wallace, "but in the meantime it will have to remain shut up." He said that additional staff had been engaged for the new building, but unfortunately the board would not be able now to place the extra nurses on the staff.
