FREE FARM LABOUR.
PALMERSTON NORTH PROPOSAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) I PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. The Dairy Farmers* Union to-day decided to forward to the Unemployment Board a suggestion that a scheme be evolved whereby farmers could secure free labour for farm work, as the local bodies were getting free labour under No. 5 scheme. It was contended that the men would be better doing productive work than labouring on roads and footpaths.
