Mr. D. M. Mcintosh, late postmaster at Hastings, succeeds Mr. B. E. S. Brodie (retired) as chief postmaster at Napier.
Mr. J. Cunningham, Commissioner of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, returned to Wellington last e/ening after a short visit to Auckland.
Mr. A. S. Warner, postmaster at Whakatane, has been transferred to Feilding, and Mr. J. C. Connell, laic postmaster at Carterton; has been transferred to Danneyirke.
Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, and Mr. J. McCarroll, chairman of the Kaipara Hospital Board, left for Wellington last evening to attend a meeting of the executive of the Hospital Boards' Association.
Mr. E. A. Reid, who recently retired on superannuation from his position as Director of Agriculture for the Cook Islands, arrived at Wellington by the Makura yesterday. Mr. Reid, who holds the National Diploma of Horticulture, was sent on loan in 190S from the New Zealand Department of Agriculture to organise fruit inspection in the Cook Islands. In 1913 he was appointed first inspector and was appointed Director of Agriculture in 1926. He has also acted as Deputy Commissioner during the absence of the ■Resident Ojnmifision«- frmn- tha islands.
