BULLET THROUGH ARM.

MISHAP WHILE PIG-HUNTING.

LENGTHY WAIT FOR DOCTOR,

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

TAIHAPE, Monday.

Mr. Arthur Thurston, of Taihape, was injured while pig-hunting at Taoroa with a friend, Mr. L. Weir. Mr. Thurston was lowering himself down the steep oank of a creek by means of trees when he dropped his rifle, which fell to the bottom and discharged. The bullet passed through his left arm and narrowly missed Mr. Weir.

Although suffering considerable pain, Mr. Thurston clung to the tree, from which he was lowering himself when the bullet pierced his arm, otherwise he would have fallen some 20ft. Later he walked five miles to a whare, where he waited until one of his friends motored into Taihape for medical attention.
