BILLIARDS IN ENGLAND.
DAVIS PLAYS LINDRUM. LONDON, March 17. A billiards match was begun at Sheffield yesterday between Davis (receives 7000) and Lindruni. Play is to be for a fortnight. Davis has scored 9977, including a break of 1440. and Lindrum 5060, including breaks of 1701 and 818 unfinished. Yesterday, the opening day, both made breaks exceeding 1000, which is a world's record.
