PATRIOTIC FUNDS.
At a meeting of the executive committee of the War Relief and Patriotic Association it was stated by Sir James Gunson that there is still £93,41G in hand for distribution amongst soldiers suffering war disabilites. It would appear, he said, that we were tightening down, but it would all be needed in the early future. I may state that although this association is strictly committed to assist disabled soldiers in need, it is rejecting the applications of many of these men. Although my pension is totally inadequate to support myself and family, I have applied for assistance and definitely been declined. I know of a family where the man is drawing a pension on account of his heart and he was recently picked up with a heart attack and taken to hospital. His wife applied for financial help and w* also declined. However, money can be fouwf to support the night shelter to house fit soldiers and others. DISGUSTED WAR PENSIONER.
