Solo British Flyer on Way to Australia. ATTEMPT ON EECOPuD. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 22. Dispatches from Paris state that Mr. Fairbairn, a Cambridge undergraduate, who has for some time past been planning an attempt on the record flight to Australia,, arrived at Lyons on Thursday night. Bad weather delayed his departure for Italy, but he left for Nice, and later from there for Rome vesterda v.
CROYDON TO PARIS.
TRIP DONE IN 80 MINUTES
(Received 1.30 p.m.) PARIS, February 22. Flying a commercial aeroplane a pilot landed at Le Bourget SO minutes after leaving Croydon. This is believed to be a record speed, averaging 17-3 miles an hour.
