MEMORIAL UNVEILED.

LATE MRS. XELLIE FERXEE.

A tablet to the memory of the late Mrs. Xellie E. Ferner was unveiled last evening by Sir George Fov.ius at a special service held in the Unitarian Church. Ponsonby Road. Mrs. Ferner was one of the earliest members of the Unitarian Church in Auckland. The Rev. Wilna. Constable paid a tribute to the inspiration and influence of Mrs. Ferner's work in this city. Sir George Fowlds unveiled the tablet, and read the inscription: "In loving memory of Xellie E. Ferner, who died Xovember 3, 1930. 'She gave herself. 1 " Sir George said among her many activities, Mrs. Ferner had taken keen interest in education, art and the welfare of children. Her work, particularly in connection with the Sunshine Association, had done much for the benefit of the children in the poorer quarters of the city.
