NORTH SHORE CLUB.

CARNIVAL TO-MORROW NIGHT.

To-morrow night the North Shore Club will hold in the Tepid Baths what promises to be one of the most successful of this season's carnivals. In drawing up their programme the officials have aimed at variety, and the bill that is to be presented .should appeal to all Among the chief numbers will be an attempt by Gor don Bridson to lower A. Adamsons 100 metres New Zealand record of <54 2-os, and a 300 yds inter-club relay Auckland championship for teams of nine, while a thrillinsr race should be seen between Misses M. Farquhar, P. Robertson. N. Stratton and E. Champion in the 150 yds ladies Auckland championship. •. A novelty diving event, in which the winner will be the competitor giving the worst exhibition, should supply the chief humour of the evening, although the special race for members of the Milford and Takanrma Life Saving Clubs, in which, the competitors will swim one length of the baths fiillv dressed, undress and. swim another length, may be equally amusing. let another attraction will be the special h"avV-weight challenge race between the '■Devonport Dasher" and the "Waitemata Wizard."
