A message from Rome says lie arrived there later in the day.
MATTHEWS' MISHAP.
ENGLAND FLIGHT ABANDONED.
SYDNEY, February 12.
A message from Darwin says Captain F. J. Matthews is returning to Sydney by the Marellji, with his damaged aeroplane also on bOard for repairs.
Captain' Matthews has abandoned the idea of flying back to England, owing to the bad weather.
