'THE LORD'S TENTH."
We find that most men having paid .only v 7/6 each into the unemployment fund, we ; have the large sum of £150,000 available for distribution to provide wages for those most in need. That is only one-fourth of what will be paid into the fund in a year. Moreover," it is from men only, and only those from i twenty years upwards, and it excludes those ; whose earnings are not in excess of £2 weekly. Can you imagine the large sum which would be made available if every person, man, woman, boy and girl, paid in one-tenth of the whole of their earnings every week and every year? The Lord's tenth to the poor. It would need a bank to hold it and a big staff toadminister it. Poverty and want would be dead letter. Christian ethics is the only .. solution to the . great world-wide problems, arising out of the unbalanced state of the masses. GRATEFUL.
