SUSFENSION OF WORKS.
HASTINGS PLANTS DAMAGED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) NAPIER, this day. The three meat freezing works at Hastings employed collectively about 800 men, at an average wepkly wage of £5500. The average yearly output of the works is approximately 412,000 sheep, 604,000 lambs, 35,027 quarters of beef, 7881 calves, 963 pigs and 3225 casks of tallow. All have suspended killing operations since the 'quake owing to the extensive damage done to plant.
